昨年の平均球速160.3キロはクローザーとしてはメジャートップの球速だった豪腕の持ち主。
フォーシームの最速は104.2マイル、約167.7キロを記録したメジャーの中でも最高レベルの豪速球。
ヘルズリーはスライダーやカーブも投げるが基本的には細かい制球はあまり気にせずストライクゾーンへ豪速球をガンガン投げ込んでくるタイプの投手。
昨年の成績は54試合に登板し防御率は脅威の1.25 をマークし、奪三振率も13.08という素晴らしい結果を残している。
ただ、2023年今季のヘルズリーはシーズン序盤までは順調にマウンドに上がっていたが、故障の影響で6月7日の試合を最後に、現在はマイナーで調整を続けている。
